GABLES HOUSE | CATHERINE HILL BAY - NEWCASTLE

Located in the historical coastal town of Catherine Hill Bay this home is set within the 'Beaches' development. With the brief to create a family home with a distinct living wing that joined to the sleeping quarters under separate gabled roofs the challenge was to cohesively fit them both to the narrowly fronted fan-tail shaped block and ensure plenty of northern sunlight was captured and ocean views maximised. The result was two quite distinguished forms sat side by side in a splayed manner that open onto a common sun filled deck oriented towards the ocean. Windows and glazed doors are located to capture the ocean vista's, breezes, and provide loads of indirect natural light and plenty of opportunity to open the indoors up to outside. Capped off by a beautiful native landscaped rear yard and contemporary pool and spa.
