COASTAL HAMPTONS HOUSE | WAMBERAL

This home was selected by the owner for it's 'good bones' to be able to work with through the extensive renovation it was to endure. Nearly all the external walls were kept, some modified, but nearly all internal walls were removed or adjusted to provide a modernised, better flowing layout - connecting to the rear terrace / pool / yard. With an external form that had potential, and some starting points for a beautiful Hamptons styled home, we went to work to bring back some life and character to the externals whilst undertaking a complete overhaul of the interior layout and finishes. The externals utilised a variety of finishes to differentiate elements, pick up on natural lines/datums and generally add interest. Exposed eaves with tapered tails were added to provide greater depth and detail, with the roofing replaced from tiles to a matt finish colorbond steel. The interior picks up on the coastal hamptons vibes of the externals and provides spaces that are modern yet cosy, light filled rooms with the north orientation and additional skylights to the centre of the home, shaker style cabintery in the Kitchen and Wet areas and a soft neutral colour palette. Oak flooring is used throughout the living spaces with other hard wearing areas receiving stone tiling. Bathrooms are lined with natural stone with high quality fittings used to bring a real sense of elegance and class. Developer and Builder: JSH Projects.
